A Little History ...

I’ve always had an interest in turning ordinary things into something special. Growing up in Arizona, my imagination ran wild out in nature. I’d scour the desert floor for tiny treasures—shiny stones that sparkled in the sun. Those little adventures planted the seeds for a lifelong love of creating, inspired by the beauty of nature.
As an adult, I discovered the art of wire wrapping and was instantly hooked. I started with a beginner’s class at a local bead shop in Phoenix, where I learned the basics of working with wire and the tools needed. From there, my passion grew, and I spent three years working at the shop, honing my skills and exploring new ways to bring my ideas to life.
As much as I admire the intricate work of talented wire weave artists, I felt their market was already rich with incredible creations. Instead of following that path, I found my voice in simplicity. For me, the stone is always the star, and the wire serves as a subtle, supporting cast—just enough to frame the beauty without overshadowing it.
Just as I’ve always admired the craftsmanship of Native American artists, I strive to create jewelry that evokes a sense of connection without attempting to replicate their work. Their ability to honor natural elements through art is deeply inspiring, and I aim to reflect that inspiration in my own way.
Today, my jewelry reflects a style I believe is truly my own. While certain techniques may be shared across the craft, I like to think my work has a “personality” that sets it apart—a blend of nature’s raw beauty and the artistic soul I pour into every piece.
ZWJ is the culmination of a lifelong love for creating, inspired by the natural treasures of the desert and fueled by a passion for making pieces that resonate.
